Fifth Form Geographers Investigate Bristol’s Harbourside

The Harbourside are of Bristol became an outdoor classroom for 86 Fifth Form geography pupils from King’s, who visited the city on day trips before the half-term break.

Pupils explored the waterfront and enjoyed a boat trip, giving them an opportunity to observe the changing character of the area. Working in small groups, they investigated the success of Bristol’s Harbourside regeneration through a variety of fieldwork techniques, including questionnaires to gauge public perceptions.

Bristol Geography field work

The visit brought their urban geography studies to life while helping pupils develop the practical fieldwork skills they will need for their GCSE examinations in the summer. Throughout the trip, they engaged enthusiastically with the tasks, asked insightful questions and worked collaboratively, representing King’s superbly.
