Heads of School Announced for 2024-2025 Academic Year
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Eric D and Amelia V as the Heads of School for the 2024-2025 academic year. Both students have demonstrated exceptional leadership, academic achievement, and commitment to the school
Eric began his journey at King’s in Year 7 and is currently studying Latin, German, and Spanish, with a Gold Arts Award as his elective. Looking ahead, he plans to study Linguistics at Lancaster University next year.
Throughout his time at King’s, Eric has been an enthusiastic participant in co-curricular activities, including Greek Club, Badminton Club, and Mandarin Club. He also plays an active role in the language clinic, helping fellow students twice a week. Eric’s passion for the arts is evident through his involvement in all of the school’s theatrical productions, from Little Shop of Horrors in Year 7, to The Madness of King George III in Year 11, and most recently Footloose.
As Head of School, Eric aims to inspire students to fully engage with the wide range of activities King’s has to offer. “I believe it’s important that every student makes the most of their time at King’s and discovers their true passion. Getting involved is the first step,” he says.

Currently studying Biology, Chemistry, and Maths for A-Levels, along with completing an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), Amelia is considering her options for university, with a focus on science and mathematics-related subjects. She hopes to continue rowing at university, a sport she is deeply passionate about.
Amelia has been a prominent figure in the school’s sporting community, particularly in rowing. As Captain of the Boathouse, she has represented King’s at prestigious events including the Junior Inter-Regional Regatta, the National Schools’ Regatta, and Henley Women’s Regatta. Her dedication to sport extends beyond rowing, having also excelled in hockey and swimming, competing in the ESSA finals. Additionally, Amelia has passed her English Speaking Board (ESB) exam and is on track to complete her Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award.
As Head of School, Amelia is committed to fostering a culture of inclusivity. “I would like to be a role model and encourage every pupil to take full advantage of the opportunities King’s has to offer, even those that take them outside their comfort zone. Inclusivity is very important to me, and I want to promote engagement across and between all year groups, through sport, music, and the arts,” she says.
Both Eric and Amelia are excited to lead the school community in the year ahead, ensuring that every student feels encouraged to explore their interests and take part in the rich variety of experiences available at King’s.
