House Spirit Takes the Spotlight at House Music and Drama Competition
Monday saw the return of Kings’ much-loved annual House Music Competition in College Hall.
The morning saw solos from pupils in the Lower Remove upwards, along with a series of outstanding drama performances.
In the afternoon, all eight Houses performed in front of the school, and it was a joy to see so many students involved, with creative and confident performances across the board and House spirit shining through in abundance.
The competition is one of the great occasions in the school year. It is an event which involves all pupils in the House and an opportunity for the U6 leaders to encourage and cajole their peers into singing as a choir!
The atmosphere in College Hall on Monday afternoon was one of energy and enjoyment as each house presented their song. Choir retained the House Song Shield with their rendition of California Dreaming; Wulstan were second with Riptide and Chappel came third with Upside Down. Each house provided their own accompaniment from solo piano through to bands.
Next week will see Fourth Form pupils taking to the stage in what looks set to be another set of entertaining performances.
Well done to everyone who took part!
