Recently, the Art School here at King's had an artist in residence: Jake Attree. During his time here he held mini-workshops with various classes and year groups.
We caught up with Jake Attree after his time with us and he had the following to say.
"I didn't have any real idea what to expect during my three-day visit as Artist in Residence at King's. I hoped the students would be highly motivated, ambitious (in the best sense of that word), enthusiastic, polite and engaged, and so I am delighted to be able to say they were all these things. Artists in Residence, be it in whatever kind of school, state, independent or public, are unable to be of any assistance if there isn't already something in the Department for them to work with. This was eminently the case at King's. The work displayed on the walls of the studios would not have disgraced any first-year degree course.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time in the School, which was made so much easier by everyone's hospitality and helpfulness. I also found this reflected in the beautiful city of Worcester."
