King’s pupils Inspired at the Malvern Festival of Innovation

Last Tuesday morning, thirty of our Lower Fourth (Year 7) students visited the annual Malvern Festival of Innovation at the Three Counties Showground with teachers from Computing, DT and Physics. One aim of the festival is to showcase careers and opportunities within STEM subjects and where they might lead to after students leave school.

The pupils had an opportunity to visit a variety of exhibits that showcased some of the latest technology being used at many local companies including QinetiQ, Worcester Bosch, Mazak and GE Aviation. They also attended a seminar about BitCoin Cryptocurrency, watched a three hundred and sixty degree immersive video about a trip to Mars and the universe and each had a go using virtual reality headsets.
