King’s RAF Cadets Learn to Glide

Last weekend three King’s RAF cadets were able to go gliding for the first time. Cadet Sergeants Izzy Copeland, Lily Beckett and Marguerite Bullock were given the opportunity to spend their Sunday learning to glide in the Viking for the first time. The girls went to Little Rissington airfields where they spent the day out on the airfield not only gaining experience in gliding but they also learnt how to move the gliders, attach the winch and help the gliders lift on take-off. After a tiring day on the airfield they then learnt some classroom based theory and practiced landing and controlling the gliders on simulators to finish the day and earn their blue wings.
