King’s Swimmers Excel at Bromsgrove School Relays Invitational Gala
A team of 23 pupils from King’s made a splash at the annual Bromsgrove School Relays Invitational Gala on 30th January. Competing against top schools from across the county, King’s fielded six teams: two Inter Girls, one Inter Boys, one Senior Girls, and two Senior Boys.
Our teams competed with from all over the county, including Warwick School, Cheltenham College, King’s High School Warwick, Holy Trinity, King Edwards VI, Camp Hill, RGS, King Edwards School, Edgbaston High School, Alcester Grammar School, Headington, Newcastle Under Lyme, Bedford Girls’ School, Bromsgrove School, Marlborough College and Abingdon School.
Each school participated in both the 4 x 50m Freestyle Relay and the 4 x 50m Medley Relay, with all King’s teams demonstrating impressive skill and determination.
Every King’s team successfully qualified for their respective finals, highlighting the strength and depth of the squad.
A particular standout performance came from the Senior Men’s B team, who defied expectations by qualifying for the Men’s A final—a remarkable feat, especially considering team members Isaac P, Joe O’L and Oli S are still eligible for the Inter category.
Although the girls’ teams narrowly missed out on a podium finish, placing fourth, the Senior Men’s A team dominated both of their events, securing victories in the Freestyle and Medley relays. Their commanding wins ensured they retained the championship title they had claimed the previous year.
It was a fantastic swimming event, with King’s swimmers showcasing incredible teamwork, talent, and determination throughout the competition.
