King’s Victorious in U14 Plate Quarter-Final Hockey Cup Match

In an exhilarating U14 Quarter-Final Cup clash, King’s played out an intense battle with Bromsgrove School, showcasing excellent hockey and a resilient team performance in a quick paced game.

The match got off to a fast start with King’s taking an early lead after a lovely ball cross, for Liv K (LR) to slot the ball in the goal. Bromsgrove came back with an equaliser, which left the game all to play for at half-time.

The second half saw a true test of character as both teams battled for supremacy. The defensive effort from the girls was outstanding, with every player contributing to nullify Bromsgrove’s attacks. There were several crucial tackles and interceptions, with the goalkeeper making a series of fantastic saves to keep the score level.

After a number of short corners and great saves from the Bromsgrove’s keeper, Charlotte B (LR) was able to get the shot off to score an excellent goal. For the remainder of the game the girls were able to sustain the pressure from Bromsgrove with the final score of 2-1.

The match highlighted the strength and diversity of the team, with everyone playing their part in what was an outstanding display of hockey. King’s demonstrated resilience, teamwork, and excellent tactical awareness, all of which will serve them well as they continue to the Semi-Final vs Solihull at home on January 29th.
