Welcome to King’s

Joining a new school is an exciting and sometimes a little daunting experience.  We all know what it’s like to start somewhere new and it’s important to remember that all pupils and teachers were once new to King’s too. King’s is a very warm and welcoming school and we are all very much looking forward to you becoming part of our family

We are sure that many of you will be feeling both excited and nervous about starting senior school. Tensure you are ready for a brilliant year ahead, we have brought together everything you need to know about life in the Lower Years at King’s Worcester.

On our ‘Joining King’s’ Hub you will find:

Induction Events

If you are joining us in Year 7, you have now been invited to an Induction Event on Thursday 30th June 2022. Here you will have an opportunity to experience a tour of the campus, meet your Tutors & our Headmaster, Mr Doodes and also ask any questions you may have. Don’t forget to make a note of these questions as and when you think of them.

If you are joining us in Year 8 then you will be contacted soon with opportunities to visit us for an induction.

We are all looking forward to getting to know you over the coming weeks and months. September will be here soon and, shortly after that, you will feel as though you have always been part of ‘Big King’s’!

Getting Around King’s Worcester

We understand that moving up to King’s Worcester from either of our junior schools or your current primary or prep school can feel a little daunting. You have gone from being at the top of your current school and knowing your way around, to a much bigger place with lots of buildings, facilities and classrooms to find. You can download (and print) the map below.

Getting to (and from) King’s

Travelling to King’s Worcester is straightforward, as the city and school are served by a good road network, has two train stations, and many daily coaches/buses covering a wide radius and fitting in with the school day. For more information on all the different transport options, view the Transport page of our website.

Following our recent Foundation-wide Transport Survey, we were delighted to share information on our new transport network, which launched for pupils in Year 3 upwards in September 2021. To find out more visit our Transport Update Hub.

Lower Years Uniform

Our uniform is a very important part of our identity and is designed to allow pupils to feel smart and comfortable in their day-to-day activities.

We were pleased to introduce a new uniform and sports kit across the Foundation in September 2021. As well as a new design, we appointed two new suppliers to ensure the best possible service for our families.

The existing uniform will be phased out over the next year, with it becoming mandatory for all pupils from September 2023.

Year 7

New pupils joining in Year 7 will be asked to purchase the new uniform and Sports Kit from Schoolblazer (our new uniform provider) and Tacklebag (our new Sports Kit provider). This will ensure that specific year groups will, where possible, have the same uniform.

Year 8

New pupils joining Year 8 in September 2022 will also be joining their peers in the new uniform.

For information on the new uniform and where to purchase new and existing uniform, please visit our uniform update page.
