Lower Years Charity Fair Brings Community Together for a Worthy Cause
The inaugural Lower Years Charity Fair proved a fitting and uplifting way to end the term, bringing pupils, staff and parents together for an afternoon of fun, teamwork and fundraising.
In the weeks leading up to the event, each Lower Years form worked as a groups to select a charity and plan a stall. Pupils took responsibility for allocating roles, purchasing items and organising logistics, gaining valuable experience in leadership, teamwork and forward planning along the way.
Despite the mixed weather and a move to indoor venues, the fair was buzzing with activity and enthusiasm. A wide variety of stalls ensured there was something for everyone, including smoothie makers, ‘soak the teacher’, hook‑a‑duck, cake stalls, raffles, beat‑the‑goalie and many more exciting attractions.
Forms chose to support a broad range of charities, including The Little Princess Trust, WWF, Parkinson’s UK, Guide Dogs UK, Sarcoma UK, Acorns, We Are Farming Minds, the British Heart Foundation and Cancer Research UK, helping to raise funds and awareness of the different causes.
The event was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended and highlighted the pupils’ commitment, initiative and generosity. We were especially delighted to welcome many children from King’s St Alban’s, who enjoyed spending time at ‘Big King’s’ and getting a taste for what their King’s journey might hold in the future!
Thank you to everyone who supported the fair and helped make the day such a success.
