Mayflower Concert set to Bring Together Local Schools

On Tuesday 19th November at 7.00pm in the Cathedral a massed choir of 300 children will perform a new choral work celebrating the life of Edward Winslow (King’s Scholar 1606-1611) and the voyage of the Mayflower which will be celebrating its 400th anniversary of  next year.

Winslow was one of the major figures in the life of the pilgrim settlers and was responsible for creating a peace treaty between the Native Americans which resulted in the first ever Thanksgiving and this is now celebrated every year by Americans in November.  This work has been commissioned by King’s and will include pupils from the three foundation schools as well as local primary schools.

Tickets are free but must be booked via this page, and so far 150 have been booked. Doors will open at 6.00pm.
