Netball Passion Shared with Local Primary Schools

On Wednesday 16th October, in glorious sunshine, King’s netball staff and senior players ran a lively netball workshop attended by children from seven local primary schools. Squads from Cranham, Pitmaston, St. Barnabas CE, St. George’s CE, St. Joseph’s Catholic, St. George’s Catholic and Whittington CE Primary Schools were coached by our talented players, further developing their skills and enthusiasm for the sport in a cycle of different netball activities. Everyone is now looking forward to coming back to participate in a tournament in early summer.

Emma McKenzie, who organised the workshop, said: “Our netball players always love working with primary schools and sharing their passion for the sport. This workshop was no exception and it was great to see that staff and children from the primary schools enjoyed it as much as we did”

The U14’s had a fantastic tournament on Tuesday, winning all four of their matches at the District tournament. They played Blessed Edwards (win 16-1), Tudor Grange (win 16-3), CWLC (win 10-2) and RGS (win 8-2). Their success will mean they progress through to the county rounds in November along with RGS who were the runners up. All 11 girls played and supported each other well with many family and friends also coming along to support
