Netball success at County Tournament

The netball success just keeps on coming as three U12 King’s pupils, Abbie Diaz, Maisie Lyons and Lydia Goodman, were involved in a nail-biting county tournament at the weekend. Having been selected for the England Netball pathway last September, they have been training with other girls from the county throughout the year and have then been selected to be a part of the A squad. In their pool matches they saw off Cheshire 2, South Staffordshire 2, Shropshire 2 and Staffordshire 1, taking them through to the semi-final when they met South Staffordshire again, proving themselves again with a convincing 17-5 win. This saw them through to the final to play Cheshire 1. It was a tense game and at full time was all square, but as we know the King’s netballers are calm under pressure and managed to score a final golden goal to secure first place. Well done to the girls; the future certainly looks bright.
