Outstanding LAMDA Success: 92% of Results at Distinction Level
Congratulations to the twelve pupils who completed Grade 6, 7 and 8 LAMDA examinations last term – with every single result awarded at Merit or Distinction, and an incredible 92% at Distinction overall.
Special congratulations go to Upper Sixth students Phoebe W and Bea W, who achieved a Distinction in their Grade 8 (Gold Medal) Acting as a Duo- an exceptional accomplishment at the highest level.
Well done to everyone involved in last term’s Speech and Stagecraft successes and particularly to this latest exam cohort.
The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, or LAMDA offers regulated qualifications in all these disciplines and King’s has a strong reputation for exceptional achievement in LAMDA exams. For more than a decade, a 100% pass rate has been maintained, with results at Merit or Distinction levels exceeding 90%. Lessons follow an individualised programme, developing core performance and presentational skills. Their work builds to graded examination and a range of options for assessment are available to suit the needs of individual pupils.
In addition to work building towards the examination, pupils are also given the opportunity to perform publicly in the annual Worcester Competitive Arts Festival and in King’s plentiful showcase opportunities, including formal and informal performances and the annual school productions that take place in the school’s John Moore Theatre.
