Outstanding Swimming Performances at County Championships

The majority of King’s club swimmers recently competed in the Worcester County Swimming Championships, held over the past few weekends at the impressive Sandwell Aquatics Centre, home of the Commonwealth Games competition pool.

Qualifying for this event is a significant achievement in itself, and King’s is immensely proud of all pupils who earned their place and represented the school with such determination and skill.

A huge well done to all King’s competitors: Teddy C, Sam M, Joe O’L, Mia G, Fliss T, Isaac P, Catherine H, Helena C, Hattie T, Amelia B, Ben G, Jonas H, Scarlett W, James B, Ellie R, Harry C, Pippa P, Harry C, Charles C, Noah B, Noah L, Thea E, Grace R, Rowan T and Sophie E.

The following pupils all placed in the top 10 in one or more events, securing qualification for the county finals in their age groups:

Success Across the Foundation

It was also wonderful to see swimmers from King’s Hawford and King’s St Alban’s qualifying for and competing in this year’s championships. Their involvement highlights the strength and continuous growth of swimming across the King’s Foundation.

Their performances across sprint, middle-distance and long-distance events were exceptional, showcasing both versatility and determination.

King’s Head of Swimming, Chris Jenkinson, praised their efforts, saying: “It was fantastic to see just how well the King’s pupils swam. Their hard work and dedication in training, both at school and during their respective club programmes outside of school, is really paying off. It is especially rewarding to see pupils who have really embraced King’s Swimming Academy programme reaping the rewards for all of their time and effort.”

With so many pupils taking part in the championships, it is very difficult to keep track of every pupil’s individual results. Hopefully this report covers all of the results, but apologies if any results have been missed out.

Congratulations once again to all our swimmers for their personal bests, county final qualifications and podium finishes. Their achievements reflect the dedication and passion they bring to their training each week and we now look forward to seeing what results the rest of this academic year brings!
