Prospective Pupils Enjoy a Day at King’s

Each year, King’s School proudly opens its doors to welcome new families into our vibrant school community. Our taster days are designed to offer prospective pupils a first hand experience of life in our Senior School, giving them a glimpse of the dynamic learning environment and strong sense of community that we are so proud of.

Since the start of the year, we have been thrilled to host children who have been offered a place in Year 7 from September 2025. These taster days are an important step in helping them feel comfortable, excited, and ready to begin their journey with us.

This January and February, our prospective 11+ pupils participated in a series of engaging and educational activities. This included a hands-on science lesson led by Mrs. Worth, where students learned about DNA in a fun and creative way—by using sweets to construct DNA models. Following this, Mr. Wilson guided the students through the process of making their own torches in our state-of-the-art Design and Technology (DT) studios, sparking their creativity.

After the morning activities, students enjoyed a delicious lunch in our dining hall—a great opportunity for them to experience mealtime at King’s and socialise with their future classmates. Time outdoors in the playground followed, offering a chance to relax and bond in a more informal setting.

One of the most memorable moments of the day was the general knowledge quiz. In teams, the children competed to answer a series of general knowledge questions, complete with buzzers that added a fun gameshow feel to the event. The laughter and teamwork on display highlighted the bonds that are already forming amongst these wonderful groups of children.

We are always delighted to meet new children and their families, and it’s a privilege to witness them take their first steps in becoming part of the King’s Worcester community. We eagerly await the arrival of many of these pupils in September and look forward to helping them thrive as they begin their journey with us.
