Pupils Celebrate Success in Duke of Edinburgh’s Award
Pupils at King’s have been recognised for their outstanding commitment and achievement in completing their Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards.
Certificates were recently presented to those who successfully completed their Bronze and Silver levels of the prestigious programme.
An impressive 41 Bronze participants have now completed their award, with a further six very close to finishing. At the Silver level, 23 pupils have completed their award, with another four nearing completion. Many of these students are now preparing to progress to the next level of the award.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award continues to thrive at King’s, with the school consistently achieving an exceptionally high completion rate across all three levels compared with other independent schools in the county.
Both the Bronze and Silver Awards require pupils to complete four core sections:
-
Volunteering: Undertaking service to individuals or the community.
-
Physical: Improving in an area of sport, dance, or fitness activities.
-
Skills: Developing practical and social skills and personal interests.
-
Expedition: Planning, training for, and completing an adventurous journey in the UK or abroad.
Pupils are encouraged to choose their own activities within each section, allowing them to pursue personal interests while developing resilience, teamwork, and independence.
The school congratulates all participants on their fantastic achievements and looks forward to celebrating further success as more pupils move on to the next award level.
