Supporting Malvern St James Families

We are sorry to hear the news regarding Malvern St James School and recognise how difficult and unsettling this will be for its community.

The King’s Worcester Foundation wishes to offer a supportive and practical conversation to MSJ families who may be considering their next steps for September. Where appropriate, we would be happy to discuss potential places across our schools and to answer any questions.

Contact us confidentially to arrange a conversation.

U19 King’s Worcester Netball Team make the Regional finals

The U19 King’s Worcester Netball Team are through to the Regional finals! The team battled tirelessly, taking care of the process, engaging with feedback and coming together as a squad when needed!

The U19 netball squad are always the last to attempt to get through to the Regional finals and, with the success of the U14 and U16 netball squads already qualifying, the pressure was on. However, this did not phase the squad and all team members played their part.

Having to play all teams, the players knew that it could be a tense afternoon, with the need to do well in all of their games. After convincing wins over South Bromsgrove, Hanley and Malvern, the team then faced Bromsgrove. They are always a tough opposition, but the team were turning the ball and we just struggled to get it through court and narrowly missed out on the win 9-11. They  they knew they had to win the final match, and in doing so went 4-1 ahead of RGS in the early stages. With only seven minutes per half, the team stayed composed and kept possession in the final minute, which meant that we were in a battle to see who would go through on goal average.

With big scores posted in the early rounds, the squad had secured a goal average of 3.7, which made them runners-up, and therefore they claimed a place at the Regional Finals in January.
