Safaris and Sport in Stunning South Africa
At the start of the summer holidays, our Hockey and Netball girls and Rugby boys had unforgettable adventures in South Africa, in what was a perfect mix of sport, culture, and lifelong memories.
The incredible trips featured competitive fixtures with local teams, training sessions at top-class facilities, surf lessons, helicopter tours over Cape Town and relaxing meals by the ocean, as well as visits to local communities. And of course, a trip to South Africa isn’t complete without an unforgettable safari!
The boys’ trip took part in pro coaching sessions and self-led training at the world-class High Performance Centre, before facing Harlequins and Wasps Club Edenvale in two fiercely contested match days, which saw some great performances across all three teams. At the Connect Festival of Unity at Jan Burger Sports Complex, our teams gave it their all against tough local opposition.
Our Hockey & Netball girls saw competitive fixtures against Tswane and Galvendale, where they showcased exceptional skill and teamwork, as well as taking part in training sessions and using the top-class facilities at Sport Pro Lodge.
Both groups gained valuable insight into South Africa’s rich and complex history, with the boys participating in a powerful guided tour of Soweto, while the girls made a meaningful visit to the non-profit Kariega Foundation.
We are so proud of the boys and girls for representing King’s with positivity, determination and teamwork throughout. A huge thank you to the King’s staff who made these fantastic trips possible.
