Student Leaders Take Part in Team Building Training

King’s newly-appointed student leaders for 2025-26 stepped into their new roles with enthusiasm on Monday, as they took part in a series of team building and leadership development sessions.

The students were challenged to work together and reflect on what makes a good team and strong team leaders. The healthy sense of competition brought out the best in everyone and it was fantastic to see the strong bonds that already exist between the students.

Two of our Prefects, Anna and Griff, reflected back on their day.

Anna: School Prefect

On Monday, the School Prefects and House Prefects made their way, in beautiful sunshine and good spirits, to the playing fields to take part in an afternoon of team building hosted by “WiseUp”.

There were multiple stations requiring teams to problem solve and work together using good communication skills. This was the first time all the prefects had met together to work as a leadership team to problem solve. It was good fun with much laughter and there was time to reflect on the skills learnt during the session at the end.

It was a very successful afternoon for our student leaders and a brilliant indication of their strong teamwork and leadership abilities.

Griff: House Prefect

I found this afternoon very engaging and had good fun throughout.

My favourite activity was the giant maze where you had to get the ball from the start of the maze all the way to the end, however, the teamwork element became apparent when there was strategically placed holes throughout and we had to move the maze into different angles to allow the ball to roll through it and stay clear from the holes in the board.

We all worked together and let one person give out the orders on what to do. I found this activity the best for teamwork. This would definitely be something I would like to do again and I look forward to sharing my skills at the L6 Induction Day in September.
