Swimmers Proudly Represent King’s at Annual Swimming Gala
Twenty four talented pupils from Years 7 to 11 proudly represented King’s School Worcester at the Droitwich and Worcester City Secondary Schools’ annual swimming gala, held at Perdiswell Leisure Centre in Worcester on 28th February. The event saw competitors split into three age groups: U12, U14, and U16.
With KSW’s Sixth Form swimmers unable to participate, this competition provided an excellent opportunity for the younger swimmers to rise to the occasion and showcase their abilities. All of the pupils swam exceptionally well, with many securing victories in both their individual events and their team relay races.
Although the standard of competition was higher than in previous years, KSW’s swimmers showed that their consistent dedication and hard work in both their school Swimming Academy sessions and additional training sessions outside school are paying off. The results were a testament to their efforts, with KSW finishing as the comfortable winners of the swimming gala, 32 points ahead of RGS in second place, and 44 points ahead of Droitwich High School in third place..
Special congratulations go to Isaac, Sam, Hans, Matthew, Catherine, Teddy, Joe, Evie, Rowan, Amelia, Dylan, Freddie, Harry, Helena, Cecily, James, Hattie, Oli, Lucie, Fliss, Taylor-Mae, Mia, Lara, and Sophie, who all displayed outstanding swimming skills, excellent teamwork, and sportsmanship. These swimmers not only excelled in their events but also represented the school with pride and professionalism throughout the day.
The swimming gala was a fantastic opportunity for KSW swimmers to shine and demonstrate the strength of the school’s swimming program, setting a high standard for future competitions.
Well done to all involved for their impressive performances and commitment to teamwork!
