Talented Cricketers Secure Victories Against KES

King’s talented cricketers had their annual block with King Edwards Birmingham over the weekend, which saw 11 boys teams in action.

KES are always a very strong opponent, and this early season block provided the boys with an excellent test and a platform to move forward from.

The 1st XI continued their strong start to the season winning by 69 runs thanks to a Century from Will T and a magnificent 5-17 from Ben E, who took his first ever 5 wicket haul.

Elsewhere, there was another good win for the 2nd XI as Joe T narrowly missed out on a maiden century, scoring an agonizing 99 and Arthur M scored 62 not out.

The U12A also showed what a talented age group they are, as they also secured a fine victory. Harry H was in form with the bat scoring 56* and his first half-century for King’s. The U15A and U13A & B also had very close games but were just on the wrong side of the result.

This week sees 13 boys and girls teams in action against Monmouth Schools. The boys 1st XI game will be live streamed at 11am and the link will be posted on our King’s Sport Instagram page.
