U16 Indoor Hockey Team Claim Silver at Midlands Finals

The U16 indoor hockey team delivered an outstanding performance at the Midlands Finals, showcasing skill, determination, and teamwork throughout the day.

Group Stage

King’s 7 v 1 Newcastle Under Lyme

King’s 5 v 1 King’s High Warwick

King’s 5 v 0 Oakham

The girls dominated their pool with free flowing, passing hockey that impressed spectators and officials alike.

Semi-Final v Bromsgrove

Despite conceding early, the team responded brilliantly, controlling the game and scoring five unanswered goals to secure a 5–1 victory and a well-deserved place in the final.

Final v Repton

Always a tough opponent, Repton pushed us hard. Our girls fought valiantly, creating several scoring chances but were denied by an exceptional goalkeeper. Although the result didn’t go our way, the performance was exceptional and full of character.

For the second consecutive year, King’s claimed the silver medal at the Midlands Finals – a testament to the strength and depth of our indoor hockey programme. Numerous schools and umpires praised the quality of our passing game and the composure shown under pressure.

We are incredibly proud of the girls for their skill, spirit, and teamwork, with the results reflecting their hard work and commitment.

All the girls played some incredible hockey in the tournament, thoroughly deserving the silver medal for the second year running.
