Update from the Sixth Form Charity Committee

Congratulations to the Sixth Forth Charity Committee who have recently held two very successful events in aid of Mobius Research, the charity for this half term. Mobius Research looks into the Mobius syndrome, which is an extremely rare condition which causes facial paralysis amongst other symptoms and takes away their chance to smile. The committee chose this charity as there is a small number of cases and so there is next to no funding available to reach their starting goal of £250, 000. You can find out more here: https://www.moebiusresearchtrust.org

The first event was the charity cake sale which made over £130. Sadly, the Fun Run had to be cancelled due to weather conditions; however, the committee hope to reschedule this for later in the year. We also had an exit collection after the House Music Competition Winners Concert, which raised over £190.

In addition to their efforts to raise funds for Mobius Research, the committee also held a very successful Pink Day in aid of Breast Cancer research today (Friday 18th October). Pupils enjoyed being able to purchase pink hair scrunchies and pink ribbons as well as delicious cakes at the pink themed cake sale.
